The Unique Disability ID (UDID) card is a national identity card and disability certificate for persons with disabilities in India. It is issued under the UDID project of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. Here is how to get one.
What is the UDID card
The UDID card, also called the Swavlamban Card, has a unique number and carries details of the person’s disability, including type and percentage. It is valid across India, so people do not need to carry multiple paper certificates. It also helps the government keep a national database of persons with disabilities.
