The e-Shram portal was launched in August 2021 by the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Benefits
- A portable ID recognised across India.
- The portal acts as a one stop solution to access many social security and welfare schemes. The ministry has been mapping central schemes to e-Shram so workers can see which they are eligible for.
- Registered workers have been eligible for accident insurance cover under PM Suraksha Bima Yojana in the initial phase, as per the ministry.
- The data helps governments reach workers during emergencies.
Check the portal for the current list of linked schemes.
Update your details
Keep your mobile, address and bank details updated on the portal, so benefits reach you without delay.
Helpline
The national helpline number 14434 is available for help with e-Shram.
Bottom line
e-Shram registration is free and simple. If you work in the unorganised sector and are not covered by EPFO or ESIC, register to stay connected to welfare schemes.
