Agmarknet is a portal of the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. It publishes daily arrivals and prices from regulated markets (mandis) across India. Farmers, traders and buyers use it to compare prices before selling or buying.
What Agmarknet shows
For each commodity in a market, Agmarknet usually lists:
- Arrivals, in tonnes or quintals
- Minimum price
- Maximum price
- Modal price, the price at which most trade happened
Prices are generally given in rupees per quintal.

How to check prices on Agmarknet
- Visit agmarknet.gov.in.
- Use the price and arrival search on the home page.
- Select the commodity, such as wheat, onion or potato.
- Choose the state, district and market.
- Select the date or date range and submit.
- Read the table of arrivals and prices.
You can also download reports for trend analysis.
Using data.gov.in and eNAM
The same daily mandi price data is available on data.gov.in as an open dataset. Markets linked to eNAM show trade data on the eNAM portal, which can be useful for comparing online bids.

How to read the prices
- The modal price is more useful than the maximum, since only a small quantity of top quality produce may fetch the maximum.
- Prices vary with quality, moisture and variety.
- High arrivals often push prices down on that day.
Limitations
- Data is reported by markets and may be delayed or missing for some days.
- Prices are for the market yard, not your farm gate. Transport and commission costs apply.
- Some markets may not report daily.
Tips for farmers
- Compare nearby markets before deciding where to sell.
- Track price trends over a few days, not a single day.
- Check MSP for crops procured by the government, since mandi prices may be above or below it.
Advice for farmers
Before selling or storing your crop, check the latest information with your district agriculture department, Krishi Vigyan Kendra or mandi committee.
Bottom line
Agmarknet gives free, official mandi prices across India. Using the modal price and comparing markets helps farmers sell at a better rate.
