The National Agriculture Market, known as eNAM, is an online trading platform that links Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) mandis across India. It was launched on April 14, 2016 and is implemented by the Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. The aim is to give farmers better price discovery through transparent online bidding.
How eNAM works
When a farmer brings produce to an eNAM linked mandi, the lot is entered at the gate, assayed for quality where facilities exist, and put up for online bidding. Traders, including those from other mandis in some cases, place bids electronically. The farmer can see the highest bid and accept it. Payment is made to the farmer’s bank account.

Who can register
Farmers, traders, commission agents and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) can register on eNAM. For farmers, registration is free.
How farmers can register on eNAM
- Visit enam.gov.in or download the eNAM mobile app.
- Click Registration and select Farmer as the user type.
- Choose your state and the APMC mandi you want to sell in.
- Enter your email or mobile number and create a login.
- Fill in your KYC details: name, address, bank account and IFSC code, and upload a scanned copy of your bank passbook or cancelled cheque.
- Submit the form. The registration is approved by the concerned APMC.
Farmers can also register directly at the gate of an eNAM mandi with the help of mandi staff.

Checking prices
The eNAM portal and app show trade data and prices from linked mandis. You can check the minimum, maximum and modal price for a commodity on a given day. This helps farmers decide where and when to sell, but remember that prices change daily with arrivals and quality.
Benefits
- Transparent bidding instead of open auction or private deals
- Access to more buyers
- Quality assaying in many mandis
- Online payment records
Limits to keep in mind
Not every mandi in India is on eNAM, and inter mandi trade is still limited in many states. Quality testing facilities also vary. Farmers should confirm with their local mandi committee whether eNAM trading is active for their crop.
Advice for farmers
Before selling or storing your crop, check the latest information with your district agriculture department, Krishi Vigyan Kendra or mandi committee.
Bottom line
eNAM registration is free and simple. For farmers near a linked mandi, it can bring more buyers and a clearer price, with payment directly in the bank account.
