The Aadhaar PVC card is a wallet sized, plastic version of your Aadhaar issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). It is durable, easy to carry and has security features such as a secure QR code, hologram, guilloche pattern, ghost image and micro text. Here is how to order an Aadhaar PVC card online.
Is it different from the paper Aadhaar
No. The Aadhaar letter, e-Aadhaar, mAadhaar and the PVC card are all equally valid forms of Aadhaar, as per UIDAI. The PVC card is just more convenient to keep in a wallet.

Fee
UIDAI charges Rs 50 for the PVC card, which includes GST and Speed Post charges. The payment is made online.
Steps to order with your registered mobile
- Visit myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in, or the UIDAI website and choose Order Aadhaar PVC Card.
- Log in with your Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile.
- Check the preview of your Aadhaar details.
- Pay Rs 50 using a card, net banking or UPI.
- Note the Service Request Number (SRN) shown on screen and sent by SMS.

Ordering without a registered mobile
UIDAI also allows you to order using a non registered or alternate mobile number for OTP on the order page. In this case, a preview of the details may not be shown before payment. The card is still sent to the address on your Aadhaar.
Delivery and tracking
After payment, UIDAI hands over the printed card to India Post, usually within a few working days, and it is delivered by Speed Post to the address in your Aadhaar. You can track the status with your SRN on the UIDAI website, and once dispatched, track the consignment with the Speed Post number on the India Post website.
Update your address first
The card is sent to the address registered in Aadhaar. If you have moved, update the address first and then order the PVC card, or it will go to the old address.
Beware of private PVC cards
Cards printed by private shops from downloaded e-Aadhaar may not have the same security features, and UIDAI has advised people to order through the official channel. Use only the official portal and do not share your OTP with anyone.
What to do if the card does not arrive
Check the status with your SRN. If the card is returned undelivered, you can raise a complaint with UIDAI through the helpline 1947 or the grievance options on its website.
Bottom line
The Aadhaar PVC card costs Rs 50, is ordered in a few minutes on myAadhaar and is delivered by Speed Post to your registered address. Keep your SRN to track the order.
